Update~Love for Lexi

It is with sincere regret and a huge lump in my throat that I inform you of the death of a very brave girl. Lexi Georgeff died last night during transplant surgery. She was pronounced dead at 9:30 p.m. Eastern. After two previous tries at a transplant, she was undergoing the procedure when the surgeons discovered an infection that they were unaware of. Once the transplant was begun, it was too late to turn back, so they pressed forward, but it was too much for Lexi. She was 14 years old.
