She's 14 and she's dying.
She needs a multi-organ transplant. Her intestines do not work and her stomach cannot accept food. She and her family live in Cedarburg, WI. Today, she was flown to Pittsburg Children's Hospital for a transplant. This is her second trip. The first time she went, she was on the operating room table when surgeon's discovered the organs that they were going to use were too damaged to use in a transplant.
The family's fingers are crossed and the entire community has been helping raise money for her. I have a link to Lexi's website to the right under "You Can Help". More importantly, if you are so inclined, you can make a secure online donation to assist with the cost of the transplant and the medications needed to help her body accept the donor organs.

my older son is almost the same age. every night we pray together as a family and every night both sons are reminded of how thankful i am that they are healthy and free to do and be whatever they want. what a gift!
